Textures Not Loading Fortnite Performance Mode
Hi Wolfie, I'm Graeme, an independent adviser here to assistance.
I'd recommend firstly updating your graphics drivers:
https://world wide web.amd.com/en/support
It's quite possible that the behaviour you're experiencing is normal, since I've had similar experience with other apps and games. Alt+Tabbing out of the program, and then back in can sometimes accept a long time or stop the app working correctly. Information technology all depends on the way the developer has designed the app and its optimization.
Anyway, try updating your graphics drivers and run across if it makes a difference, and permit me know how you go! Cheers!

[EDIT: I had a quick run around opened Firefox with three tabs including a video, and also had the Epic Launcher, and a small
Window open, and Alt-TAB out and back didn't bear on the textures.
I'chiliad wondering why your textures go missing at all equally the game does non actually minimise. It just gets pushed to the background.
If I Alt-TAB to a smaller Window such as the Epic Launcher the game is however in that location with that Window on top. ]
- Yes, equally Grame mentioned some games don't respond well to Alt+TAB out and in. Taking a long time to load the textures is non so bad
because some games won't load again at all. I was going to test Alt+TAB with Fortnite, only can't launch the game until EPIC do a 4.8GB update
(I only recently installed Fortnite Battle Imperial mode mainly because of Ballsy launcing their own site,
just I don't exercise much online play and done more than take a quick run around. )
- Why are you using all low settings ? This can really be counterprodiuctive when using a gpu that is capable of runninga game at high settings as it tin can push more processing onto the cpu. Your RX580 should accept no problems running with high settings.
If Alt+TAB is not the reason for the textures taking a long time to load, using depression settings may be the reason ?

You lot could only turn the shadows off and adjust the other settings so there is no lag. If you have Vsync enabled disabling that
can also assistance with lag. I wouild have thought your gpu could handle high settings (Epic would evidently exist a bit much) at 1080,
or even 1440p without lag. 4K would obviously be a killer res though.
Anyway never mind that...
- What are your boilerplate frame rates ? Are they steady or do the fasten downwards below 30fps ?
- I'grand still curious every bit to why the textures need to be re-loaded at all (maybe because of the multi-tasking using organisation RAM ?).
I was thinking your were Alt-TAB out of the game before, but I see that y'all can minimise the game from the games screen when paused equally well.
As far every bit I can tell, fifty-fifty when minimised the textures practise not unload, and if I Alt-TAB out the game but gets pushed behind the
active Window so I know the textures don't unload when using Alt+TAB.
- Have you monitored your cpu, gpu, system RAM and VRAM employ, and compared them when just running the game without
all the multi-tasking with when you multi-task while running the game ?

You have not what ?
- Not tried running the game without doing annihilation else to see if it runs more smoothly, or non monitored the hardware use ?
Neither of the above ?
If not, you should do both. This will help determine which role of the hardware is involved in the fps dropping.
eg - If multi-tasking is contributing to the textures unloading your arrangement RAM may exist going to be over 80% use.
If multi-tasking is contributing to the lag there should be no lag result if you merely run the game, reduce groundwork apps
and don't do other stuff while playing the game.
- So the average fps is around xc even when there is a lot of activity/battle. etc, and the lag occurs only when gliding,
and the lag is in conjunction to the fps drib, yes ?
- Do you lot have any of the Windows Game Bar or Game Fashion enabled ? If so disable them, at least while troubleshooting.
--------
[EDIT: I haven't been able to replicate your texture event. The textures don't unload, and don't take to reload. At least non
the way I've been running the game.
I just had another run around and pushed my res upwards to 1440p so the fps would run a bit lower, and have a pretty consistent
60 +/- fps. Doesn't vary much if flying, gliding, or on ground.
(effectually 100 +/- @1080 due west/ Ballsy. Occasional drops to lower 80'southward though).
While my specs are higher than yours I was able to push my cpu use upwardly to brief peaks of 73% with a bit of wild flying and barrel rolls @1080.
but it more than unremarkably averages between 35-50+ while flying/gliding.
Then the game tin be fairly cpu intensive at times.
Cpu utilise was generally betwixt 25-l% apply on the footing. My system RAM was pretty consistent at close to 8GB (40 +/-% of my 16GB).
VRAM around the 3.5GB mark and the gpu max use at 99%, which is what information technology should be when pushing system intensive settings in any game.
This was with one browser open with a video running full screen in the groundwork and a couple of other open up Windows. ]

- The i7 2600 is not actually going to be worth the cost, or effort. The clock speed is almost the same as your i5, and Hyper-threading
can crusade problems in some games, and with perchance a few exceptions it does not assistance much with games that can use it.
i5 2500 are still proficient gaming cpu's.
The recommended cpu for Fortnite is an i5 @2.viii GHz (i3 dual cadre @2.4GHz for minimum), so your iii.2GHz (base clock) should exist fine.
- As it works out I take an i7 (Not my choice. It'southward what came with a second mitt PC with an unreal price ). I'll reboot, re-enable
Hyper-threading and see what the results are with Fortnite, and come up back inside the hour.
[EDIT: The game does non have any issues with Hyper-threading, just if there were any gains they were hard to detect. A small
drib in cpu employ of a few %, and maybe a couple of extra fps here and there, merely goose egg significant. I was only playing the Playground
pick, so there wasn't much activity. ]
- At least effort running the game without trying to do so much other stuff to run across if it helps.
I'm thinking if that does not help, the game may be the cause of the problem. Take you tried Verifying the game files
(Epic Library - click on settings icon in game championship and select Verify) ?
Doing that, and running the hardware monitors to see how much resources are being used is a whole lot easier than swapping out
your cpu... for very trivial operation gain, and maybe still having the same texture issue.
It will besides help determine if you really demand more RAM.
- Accept you lot been to the Ballsy or other dedicated Fortnite forums to run across if others are having problems with the textures ?
